Seven Things to Know About Me

The only thing I need now is a spot of tea.
I'm guessing you've already seen the information about me on the main page. This is just where you can learn a little bit more if you're interested.

(One)

I was born and raised in a small Canadian town and attend university in a big city. Let's just say that it's a bit of a culture shock. And I have a lovely American pen-pal who has taught me much about America that I'm ignorant about.

(Two)

I am a fairly short girl (five foot three or so), but I have big dreams. I hope one day to travel the British Isles, the Holy Land, and the Ukraine, where my ancestors came from. I want to live in the English countryside and have afternoon teas; either that, or live in a tiny book-stuffed apartment above a cafe/bookshop.

(Three)

I love nature and the outdoors. I have two cats and a dog, who make me laugh when I'd rather cry.  My favourite season is Autumn, with its crisp air and gorgeous leaves of flame. I love talking walks in the beauty of silence, especially at night when I can make vain attempts to count the stars.

(Four)

I love books. My favourite authors include C.S. Lewis, Tolkien, Anne Elisabeth Stengl, Shannon Hale, and Megan Whalen Turner. Whenever I think of heaven, I see Narnia and think, "Further up and further in!"

(Five)

I am a bit of a ditz. But that's just because a lot of the time I'm dreaming while awake, imagining different worlds while living through this one. So sometimes I forget to do things or get things wrong.

(Six)

Other than reading, writing, and blogging, I enjoy drawing. I love to see characters come to life on the page, and love to create art based on the books I've read. I love British and American football more than hockey, and love to watch equestrian events. I also love to eat snacks and drink tea or hot chocolate. No coffee for me, please.

(Seven)

Last, but not least, I believe in God and His Son, Jesus Christ. I would say I love Him, but my love for Him can never measure up to His love for Me. I'm always growing and struggling in this area, but I don't expect it to be easy. My favourite book of the Bible is Ruth, and I long to be the sort of friend to others that she was to Naomi.

So now you know a bit more about me. I hope you'll take the time to follow my blog and keep up with my adventures. There's nothing like having lots of friends along for the ride!

Hello! Thanks for commenting! I ask only a few things: please do not post anything that disparages others or is offensive. No swearing or taking the Lord's name in vain, especially. Thank you, and be blessed!
